My name is Maree Ashwell , I have a passion to write. I love the creative minds of adults of all ages and children. I adore learning about their lives through discussion. What drives people intrigues me. I love unfolding people' stories and getting a little bit more.
As a youngster, I was highly inquisitive about the world outside of mine. I knew there was a world out there and went on many adventures to get a taste. Cultural , social diversions, community, language, and health issues, the arts, music and film are my areas of special interest.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in communication - with majors in Journalistic writing and Film studies. In the past 3 years I have written for my local paper, The Westerner for their Artist's profile and have been commissioned to write two articles by local people, endeavouring to have them published. When endearing people like Vicki Kearney (the editor of Avenues of Change) approach me to scribe something about their passionate book, or event I feel grateful and encouraged to pursue my true passion of writing.
I have a loving partner and three adorable very young children, from 8yrs to 2yrs who keep me very well entertained and loved. I am very lucky to have a beautiful family who are interested in what I would like to do in the future. My past experiences have moulded how I see the world. In the 1990's I lived one and a half years in Germany and travelled to many European countries at my leisure. This influenced my ideologies greatly. My creative and musical husband and friend has also been vital in making sure I keep developing my self amongst having young children to care for.
Some days I feel that, 'Its only the beginning and I've already gone and lost my mind, I feel like making daisy chains and playing hide and seek' (Deborah Conway). I am a little bit zany , a portion serious. My writing can be reflective of this.
