Karen McElroy is a naturopath and medical herbalist offering an integrative and holistic approach to health care. Karen treats a wide range of disorders in women, men and children, offering naturopathic support for the whole family.
Karen has a passion for natural medicine and strives to facilitate health, vitality and wellbeing in every individual.

Karen specialises in women's health with particular experience in infertility & IVF support, preconception care, pregnancy, postnatal care. She works in a collaborative manner with doctors at local IVF clinics to ensure that women have the best possible outcomes in their pursuit of a healthy pregnancy. Karen has had extensive experience in treating complex hormonal disorders such as polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis and menopause.

Karen is also experienced and passionate about infant and children's health, helping to give parents the tools to improve their children's physical and emotional health.


'Along with addressing lifestyle and environmental factors, I have found herbal and nutritional medicines to be invaluable tools in enhancing and optimising reproductive function. I have had great success over the years in helping women alleviate health complaints or achieve a healthy and successful pregnancy.'

A mother of two, Karen is passionate about natural birth and parenting. She understands that the physical and emotional health of the mother from the preconception period right through pregnancy and then throughout her postnatal experience of mothering will affect the health and wellbeing of her children.

Karen understands the need for women to be supported before and after pregnancy and this led her to form and co-facilitate the first Maternity Coalition BaBs group in Queensland at Noosa. This group now runs as 'Sunshine Coast BaBs' and continues to support pregnant women and mothers on their important journey.

Other areas of clinical interest for Karen in her practice, include digestive disorders, allergies and food intolerance, and stress management.

Karen incorporates dietary and lifestyle assessment along with herbal medicine, homeopathy,
nutritional supplements and flower essences to design a treatment plan that is tailored for each individual.

Karen is committed to a high standard of clinical practice and frequently undertakes further study and professional education to extend her knowledge base. She is currently studying anthroposophical medicine which adds another dimension to her practice. Karen also regularly works alongside other healthcare professionals where necessary, including doctors and medical specialists, to ensure optimal health for all her patients.
