Open Doors is an independent not-for-profit community service agency established in 1984. Open Doors provides non-directive counselling and support for unplanned pregnancy and counselling for grief associated with any pregnancy loss (miscarriage, termination, IVF losses, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth).
Open Doors specialises in counselling women and men for post-abortion grief, an area of loss which is often not talked about in the community and which can lead to grief being unresolved, affecting future relationships including the parenting relationship.
Open Doors arranges twice annual Remembrance Services in the Ringwood area for anyone wishing to formally mourn a baby lost during pregnancy. The order of service is also available for other ministers, celebrants or lay people to use in their own locality.
