MCS is a cooperatively run alternative primary school located in St Kilda East in Melbourne's inner South Eastern suburbs. MCS offers a child centred, enquiry based approach to education, with a supportive, caring family atmosphere. Class sizes are small, allowing teachers to cater to children's individual learning styles. MCS offers a wonderfully nurturing transition to school. Along with a regular primary school curriculum children are involved in the Cafe cooking program, making a weekly lunch for their classmates, tending the vegetable garden, a wonderful resiliency program, film making, song writing, drama and an annual play. Experiential learning forms a strong part of the larning at MCS, with regular excursions, a senior camp and an annual family camp. MSC has a talented body of parents that assist the wonderful teachers in adding to the richness of the school and the education of the children.
