Emma Davidson lives in Canberra with her partner and their three children.
She has a Bachelor's degree combining Law, IT, and Communications, and is working towards a Certificate IV in Community Education with the Australian Breastfeeding Association.
After more than a decade of career success, Emma left the world of IT management to open Brindabella Baby, an eco-friendly and fair trade baby shop in Canberra and online.
As at November 2009, Emma is the ACT Branch President of Maternity Coalition, ACT representative for Caesarean Awareness Network Australia, and editor of The Nappy Wrap for Australian Nappy Network. She is also an active member of the Canberra Babywearers group.
Emma ran for Senate in the 2007 Federal election for What Women Want (Australia), a political party representing the views of women – including access to independent midwives for homebirth. Her first public speech during the campaign, addressing industrial relations issues and indigenous self-determination, was given during a rally at a shopping mall, while simultaneously breastfeeding her four week old son in a sling.
Emma is passionate about environmental sustainability and global social justice. She says that sleep is for wimps, and liberated women don't do housework. She has lost the TV remote somewhere in Mt Foldmore, and wishes her mobile phone were lost too.
